Nickname: Chuck

Favorite bike: Litespeed Classic

First bike: I do remember having a Schwinn Le Tour back in HS (I think).  When I started cycling more seriously, my first bike is the Litespeed Classic I'm riding now.

Why/how I started cycling:  Due to injuries and slowing down, I needed to find a new challenge after running.  Consequently, I started participating in triathlons.

Date started cycling. April, 2002.

Cycling Motivation and Goals: To get faster and become more competitive in triathlons.

Cycling History: In college a friend and I (on no training I might add) decided to take a leisurely Spring Break ride from Macon to Disney World and back.  We made it about 20 miles before a dog starting chasing us.  As I was inexperienced in the art of riding with panniers, my attempt at accelerating ended in a quick fall and a broken collar bone.  I swear the dog never left his yard and laughed at me the whole time I was on the side of the rode.  The story gets better though.  Since my Spring Break was over, I flew home to Ohio to recuperate.  I loaned my car to my buddy so that he could go home to Florida and explained how he needed to add oil at every fill up.  Unfortunately, he forgot this detail and I got back a car ready to throw a rod.  After that accident, I didn't get on a bike for 20 years.

Athletic Accomplishments: 1st at Silver Comet Run 10K, Finished Florida IM in 11:07

Worst crash:  In more recent history, my worst crash is  when I fell down while standing waiting to start my time trial.

Favorite Race/Ride: Three Gap in the north Georgia mountains.

Longest Race/Ride: Bike across Florida ~160 miles

Fastest Race/Ride: Lunch time 20 when I was pulled to 25.57 mph, April 15, 2004.
