Favorite bike:
My favorite bike is a Colnago C40. It has Campy Record components
with Mavic Ksyrium SSL Equipe wheels.
Why/how I started cycling?
I started actively cycling at Christmas of 1988. My wife Connie
purchased a Schwinn World Sport. I think it cost 300 dollars. Six
months later I find and buy a Pugeot. This cost 600 dollars.
Connie thought I had gone crazy. Since that time I have owned one
De Rosa, three Colnago's and one Trek mountain bike. I love Italian steel frames!
Current cycling motivation cycling: I have ridden seriously for
most of the last 16 years with a year off here or there. This past
year has been the most productive with 5000 miles ridden in 1999
and 6000 miles planned for 2000. I have been very fortunate to ride
with good cyclists that have helped me get in many miles even when
I'm not motivated to.
Other interesting facts:
I enjoy soccer, spelunking (caving), fly-fishing and cycling.
Number of Bikes:
At this time I own 3 bikes. Trek 6000 mountain bike and three Colnago
road bikes. My dream bike is Colnago master light with Rabobank
color scheme.
Cycling
history:
When I first started cycling it was just short stuff around
the neighborhood. My brother-in-law got me into racing a few criteriums
and a 6-week course at the Dick Lane Velodrome down in East Point,
GA. I rode my 1rst century on my 40th birthday and have since
ridden 2 more, all with Ralph Frazier. My best finish in a race
was 7th, held at John's Creek office park. My longest ride is
146 miles, The Chattanooga Ride 2000.
