Nickname:
Kris
Favorite
bike:
A Trek Hilo.
Date
started cycling:
At about age 5.Since having a baby a year ago, I have started
training more intensely for triathlons. I started riding with
the Frazier Group in May.
First
bike:
Powder blue, white leather banana seat and basket with flowers
on the front!
Goals
and cycling interests:
I want to be competitive in triathlons and I want to do longer
races. I am tired of getting passed by everyone on the bike.
Other
interesting facts:
Multi-sports. I have been competing in triathlons since 1989.
I also play tennis.
Best/favorite
sport:
My best sport is swimming. I was a collegiate swimmer at the University
of Pennsylvania and held five school records. I was awarded freshman
Athlete of the Year in 1983. I enjoy long distance open water
swims.
Number
of bikes:
Two, three if you count the one I share with my husband.
Cycling
accomplishments:
I am glad to be riding with this group; it's an accomplishment
each time I finish a ride.
Most
Memorable/best cycling story:
In my first triathlon my bike broke down at the beginning (of
course my husband took the good bike!), so someone gave me her
touring bike. It was too big for me and loaded
down with gear but I finished the race and I had fun!
Best
finish:
Probably my most recent race, TriAmerica Olympic distance race
at Lake Lanier on August 18, 2002. I finished first in my age
group and 5th overall.
Favorite
ride:
I don't have one yet but if I did it would be flat and not have
any dogs or cars!
Longest
race/ride:
40 miles.
Worse
crash:
Several close calls but I am still in the "will crash" group.
