2009 Sixth and Seventh Rounds FC Kids/FCP Time Trial

Our sixth and seventh rounds of our 2009 Individual Time Trial Series were held on August 19, 2009 and September 9, 20009, respectively.

 


SIXTH ROUND - August 19, 2009

Our sixth round of the 2009 Individual Time Trial Series was held Wednesday evening, August 19, 2009.  Twenty-eight racers (24 four kids/juniors and four adults) participated in the event.  Near perfect conditions helped lead to nineteen new personal records, six Junior Age Group Records, and the course record.  

 

Mike Tindol flew around the course to set a new course standard in six minutes, 49 seconds, 28.166 mph, ranking as our second all-time fastest 3-mile ITT average speed.

 

Zoe Frazier led all women racers with her 24.151 mph average speed, establishing a new Junior Women's Record, and her effort ranks as our sixteenth all-time fastest for women.

 

David Goodman set his personal record and the all-time fastest speed for Juniors with his 27.106 mphAndrew Macrae set our Boys' 13-year-old Age Group Record with his 26.979 mphNick Frazier's 26.544 mph was a new Boys' 17-year-old Age Group RecordStephanie Cucaz established a new Girls' 16-year-old Age Group Record with her personal record of 22.412 mphAbigail Aldridge bettered her Girls' 11-year-old Age Group Record with an average speed of 21.215 mph

SEVENTH ROUND - September 19, 2009

Our seventh round of the 2009 Individual Time Trial Series was held Wednesday evening, September 9, 2009.  This was the final round for the year.  Thirty-six racers participated in the event.  The windy conditions (NNE 12) seemed to lower most of the speeds; however, six new personal records were set.  

 

Twenty-seven kids/juniors and nine adults competed against the clock on the 1.6-mile circuit at Shannon Way. 

 

New comers to our event were Mark Eckrote, Miguel Gonzalez, Anand Jandayala, and Jon Loureir.

 

Mike Tindol finished with the top average speed at 27.826 mph, which ranks as our eighth all-time fastest.   Joe Rosentel had the second fastest average speed, 27.692 mph, tying as our tenth all-time fastest.

 

Zoe Frazier led all women racers with her 23.704 mph average speed, which was her second all-time fastest average speed on the course.

AS ALWAYS, Coach Kelli and I encourage all of our Juniors to participate in every 3.2-mile ITT on the schedule.  Although the time trial is excellent practice for racing, more importantly, we use the results to measure each individual's fitness and progress.
